The Bland Birds Of Pokemon Design

 Flying type Pokemon are often victim to just being 'birds' with the most boring designs. sometimes it makes sense, like with the route one birds of early generations

However it seems that the designs of Pokemon that aren't early route starting birds are becoming less and less inspired. One of my all-time favorite Pokemon, Cramorant, is an unfortunate victim of this, being just a blue guy. I do, however love him anyway.

In the most recent generation 9, two Pokemon stand out in being particularly boring in design. Squawkabilly, for example, is just a bird that comes in several colors and has a pompadour. Flamigo is another one that is literally just a round flamingo shaped vaguely like a boxing glove, hence its fighting typing.
